University of York |

BB |
TSCF Rating For University of York
The TSCF score sits at 257.
Universities can create a favorable environment for pedagogic performance, but the latter lies in a last resort on individual staff and students. In addition, performance evaluation in this sector is widely subjective, depending notably on the opinion of employers, the public image and fame of these organizations, and their involvement in partnerships with other actors.
To qualify for evaluation, a University must offer the whole range of the degrees (undergraduate - graduate - PhD). Higher education institutions that focus on a particular segment of science or on the application of science are taken into account only if: - they cover a sufficiently broad spectrum of disciplines and areas, - they practice fundamental research and teaching.
Our evaluation criteria include:
- Quality of education (student/faculty ratio, pedagogic methodology, logistics, income and budget) for 50%,
- Support to research (research budget, faculty involvement, patents, indexation and citation per faculty) for 25%,
- And organization development (HR policy, institutional income, international outlook including faculty, research and programs) for 25%. |

Upwork (Elance) |

The Upwork organization offers the possibility to those with a limited budget to have their IT development done at moderate cost. As a competitor of Freelancer, they offer more flexible policies and less complicated procedures. However their provider evaluation system is insufficient and the frequency of bidding spam is too high. The range of payment options they offer is limited, as one example they do not accept debit cards, which can be a problem. |

Viabuy |
Blue |
B- |
There is little transparency about the issuer of the Viabuy prepaid card, PPro Financial Ltd, which is based in the UK with its main customer services located in Germany.
The Viabuy payment card is presented as free, anonymous and flexible.
It basically offers the same advantages as other prepaid cards. However, fees are requested upfront for the delivery of the card as well as a yearly fee. The Viabuy card can be loaded through free SEPA wire transfers (no cash deposits), provided that the payer mentions the nine-digit number of the card in the transfer information - a process that may induce errors that are difficult to redress. The other loading methods are charged 1.75% or more. Payments are free if made in euros; unless they are made in euros, they will be charged 2,75 % of the amount paid. Withdrawals with ATMs or Paysafecard are very expensive.
Based on your level of identification (IDV level), certain limits apply with regards to the loading of your account. You may load your account with the following amounts per year: IDV1: up to EUR 1,000.00 (of which up to EUR 250 per month with cash or prepaid vouchers) - in this case, no or few proofs of identity needed but the card is deprived of any operational utility. IDV2: up to EUR 15,000.00 (of which up to EUR 12,000 with cash or prepaid vouchers; EUR 1,000 per month with prepaid vouchers) - in this case, you have to submit documents for identification. IDV3: unlimited, but subject to limits per transaction type (maximum of EUR 12,000 per year with cash or prepaid vouchers; EUR 1,000 per month with prepaid vouchers) - in this case, you have to have made a 10,000 euros wire transfer previously and to provide for a long list of documents for formal identification.
In summary, the Viabuy prepaid card is not as free, anonymous and flexible as it initially sustains to be. |
