HSBC Holdings plc is one of the largest global banks and the largest in Europe, with total assets of US$2.558 trillion in 2018 and near 300.000 employees.
HSBC provides more than 54 million customers worldwide with a range of personal financial services, including current and savings accounts, mortgage loans, car financing, insurance, credit cards, loans, and investments.
HSBC has especially strong banking options available for customers with higher balances who travel enough to take advantage of its broad international presence. However, the bank lags behind major domestic banks in branch accessibility and the quality of its mobile services.
The bank was involved in a great deal of scandals and controversies around money laundering (2003, 2010, 2012 and 2015), a US Senate investigation (2012), Forex, Libor and Euribor scandals (2014), tax avoidance schemes (2015), a $3.5 billion currency scheme (2016), a major data loss (2008), Gaddafi Libya claims (2011), deforestation claims (2012, 2018), and North London Central Mosque and Hamas funding (2014).
If, in some cases, the Bank just tried to protect their customers, in other cases, it failed to execute payments (BACS 2015, resulting in thousands of salaries, house purchase and essential home care not being paid), and indulged into overzealous money-laundering policies (2014) - the bank was reported to have refused large cash withdrawals for customers without a third-party letter confirming what the money would be used for. The MP for Clacton rightly summarized this policy stating that "it basically infantilises the customer. In a sense your money becomes pocket money, and the bank becomes your parent."
As of 2018, HSBC had overwhelmingly negative reviews in the UK and Australia for customer service quality.
The major credit rating agencies rate HSBC at A2 for Moody’s, A for S&P, and AA- with negative outlook for Fitch. |

HSBC Malta is a tiny local subsidiary of banking giant HSBC Holdings plc. They claim that they offer the easiest process on their market to open accounts online. In fact, once you have registered online, they require that you show up in a branch to complete the process, so it is not an online registration. They do not hesitate to claim for "ID documents signed by the client's former banker" (sic). |

TSCF Rating For Humboldt University of Berlin

Universities can create a favorable environment for pedagogic performance, but the latter lies in a last resort on individual staff and students. In addition, performance evaluation in this sector is widely subjective, depending notably on the opinion of employers, the public image and fame of these organizations, and their involvement in partnerships with other actors.
To qualify for evaluation, a University must offer the whole range of the degrees (undergraduate - graduate - PhD). Higher education institutions that focus on a particular segment of science or on the application of science are taken into account only if: - they cover a sufficiently broad spectrum of disciplines and areas, - they practice fundamental research and teaching.
Our evaluation criteria include:
- Quality of education (student/faculty ratio, pedagogic methodology, logistics, income and budget) for 50%,
- Support to research (research budget, faculty involvement, patents, indexation and citation per faculty) for 25%,
- And organization development (HR policy, institutional income, international outlook including faculty, research and programs) for 25%. |

The Internet is an open international network, fundamentally operating on trust. However, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is dependent on the US Government and US interests despite the 2016 reform. It does not offer domain owners the guarantees they would be entitled to with respect to their property rights, and beyond - to their corporate identity. ICANN's terms and conditions are abusive and dictatorial, and have been even worsened by many of their affiliated registrars. |

Kraken |

Kraken offers a decent platform to trade Bitcoin and a range of other cryptocurrencies. Users can fund their accounts with fiat currency and withdraw fiat currency from their accounts. Fees are quite moderate. However, like all companies in the financial sector, Kraken cannot be regarded as fully reliable. If government promulgates new regulations, Kraken can change their requirements overnight. As one example, their requirements regarding proof of identity (for withdrawals) were quite liberal. They changed them with a prior notice of only three days. As a consequence, carefulness is needed when dealing with Kraken. |
